A message from Gord Kruger, Evergreen Club president
Greetings to all at this very special time!! It’s the dawning of another year and another step on the path of life….may 2019 bring each and everyone of you good health, happiness and pure joy. After a very busy time with Christmas and the holiday activities it’s time to relax a bit and catch our breath. However as we continue down that path of life maybe it’s time to reflect on how we are living our lives and make the very most of our remaining time. Surely each of us have things in our life that we might like to adjust, or even change. Time for a “New Years Resolution”or two?? Maybe it’s time to ponder whether we would like to try something new…a new activity maybe..or maybe it’s just time to enhance something we are already doing.
It’s a time for quiet thinking and you may find it to be a joyful and pleasurable experience in itself. Never underestimate the possibilities that are available to you here at the Evergreen Club amongst the many old friends you already have and the many new ones you can welcome into your life. So it’s time to meet January 2019 head on and get set for an exciting new year that we can share with our family and friends.
The new year ahead of us also provides for a moment to look back and appreciate what a great year 2018 was here at the Evergreen. It’s also time to say “THANKS” for what we have…….to the city of Courtenay for their support and for the wonderful facilities we enjoy……to Janet and her team for their leadership and support…….to Don and his crew for keeping our facilities in superb condition and maintaining them so well…..to our front office staff for their wonderful support….to our may volunteers who make it all happen here at the club……to all of our membership for their loyal support of our many programs and activities…. and I would personally like to recognize my fellow executive members for their thoughtful input and generous giving of their time to make this a great place to be. Many great things are ahead in the year 2019 so be with us with the enthusiasm that makes this club work.
A somber note before I sign off…….We lost one of our dear friends and hardest working members on the evening of December 27th…..Ken Macleod passed away at the Comox Valley Hospital after complications from Cancer. On your behalf I send along my Sincerest Condolences to his family…..”MAY YOU REST IN PEACE KEN” That’s a wrap for now folks!!!…..As 2019 arrives may you all enjoy good health, much happiness and many successes in the coming year…..”HAPPY NEW YEAR Y’all” ……….gk
