A message from Gord Kruger, Evergreen Club President
Greetings Everyone!!!…not too many more days until we see another Christmas…..doesn’t it seem that they come around far more often than they used to, or is that just me feeling my 75 years (and counting)….seems to me that I just did a Christmas message not too long ago. No matter how you look at it, another year has almost passed in a blur of time used up. However, over that time I am pleased to report that our Evergreen Club has continued to flourish and that is only due to our wonderful membership and willing volunteers…..through your contributions of time and effort it continues to be a great organization with a plentiful supply of great programs and activities.
The torch continues to be successfully passed from those who have given of themselves to those that are now offering themselves. Many thanks go out to those that have stepped back this past year and much encouragement is offered
to the newbies.
Christmas is a time of celebration and enjoyment. On behalf of myself and the rest of the executive I sincerely hope that your Christmas will be one of happiness and good health and will then lead to a prosperous and joyous New Year.
Just want to pass along a “Well Done” to Ken MacLeod and his very able crew for their great production of “Memories Of The War Years”……lots of good feedback from that one. And also many
THANKS to VP Nettie and her great crew of volunteers for putting on the recent Fashion Show.
There are several neat activities coming our way in December. On Sunday December 4th the Evergreen Club and the Comox Valley Concert Band are presenting “Fireside Familiar”….a great afternoon of music. It will be in the Conference Hall and goes from 2pm to 3:30pm. On Friday December 9th, it’s the Evergreen Yuletide Dance with music by everyone’s favorite, The Dan Hughes Band. There will be an assortment of delicious “appeys” available along with a great evening of dance music…..tickets are available at the office.
Then it’s a big day to salute our many volunteers on Wednesday December 14…….it’s the 2016 Evergeen Club Volunteer Appreciation Party. It’s in the Rotary Hall from 2 to 4 and is a drop in…….it is open to any and all current volunteers of the club……if you identify as an Evergreen Volunteer in any way, shape or form, please come….RSVP at the office by December 9th please. And then we put a wrap on 2016 with the New Year’s Eve Dinner & Dance on Saturday December 31st in the Rotary Hall….a roast beef dinner at 6pm with dancing starting at 7:30 with “The Amigos”……tickets at the office and a reminder that seating is limited.
Time to go, but once again let me wish you a “Very Merry Christmas” an a “Wonderful 2017″……..adios for now….gk
