A message from Gord Kruger, Evergreen Club president
Well don’t look now but here it comes….another Yuletide season. It’s really hard to believe that it’s here already….another go-round of parades, parties and a score of other events to help acknowledge that most important time….”CHRISTMAS”. Santa will be hanging out in many of the shopping malls and other places that people attend during this most celebrated time of year, so pack up the grandkids and get those 2018 Christmas photos.
Here at the Evergreen we are primed and ready for the month of December. With a very successful Christmas Bazaar and Luncheon already in the books we are all set for our annual Evergreen Club Yuletide Dance on Friday December 7th. “Dancin’ Mary” and her crew of Christmas Elves invites you to join them in an evening of great dance music from the ever popular “Dan Hughes Band”. Doors to the Rotary Hall will be open at 6:30 and dancing starts at 7:30. A wonderful assortment of tasty appys will be served at the event.
The next presentation will be the “Always in Style” musical event on Sunday December 9th at 1pm. You will be entertained by the Comox Valley Concert Band with an afternoon of timeless and familiar tunes. This event will take place in the Conference Hall. Then it’s another musical event on Wednesday December 12th as the Evergreen Club presents the Comox Valley Choristers in something called “Olde Time Christmas”. The Conference Doors will open at 1pm for a 1:30 start.
And don’t forget that after the turkey has been eaten and the ‘CHEER” has passed your lips you will have a little time to recover and make ready for our New Years Eve Dinner and Dance on Monday December 31st. It’s in the Rotary Hall and the doors open at 6:30pm for a 7pm dinner. After a fine chicken and rib dinner you can dance the evening away to the dance music of “The Amigos”. Then prior to midnight we will count down the last of 2018 and bring in 2019…..and start another march…….with “RESOLUTIONS IN HAND” toward Christmas 2019…..but I’m getting ahead of myself………
So, on behalf of your executive, I would like to this opportunity to wish “You and Yours” a Very Healthy and Merry Christmas……and all the Very Best for 2019. It is indeed a privilege to serve on your behalf…….THANKS!!….gk
